i shine in toxic skies
where the supergiant Betelgeuse
spins its red webs like molten threads
and the Milky Way skips a beat

i thrive where celestials collapse
lapping up gravity near dizzying black holes
like a wild cat clawing its prey

sometimes i play ping-pong with Jupiter’s moons
steal Saturn's rings in a moment of headrush
i grab the moon by its throat
and feel immense glee when i wreak havoc

you call me so many names
ask me so many things
but trust me when i say this
i am not your good Samaritan
(though i should someday be. meh.)
